The whole of Portchester's School Council were invited to the Houses of Parliament to be the guest of Mark Hoban, MP for Fareham. While we were there we were shown around the House of Lords and the House of Commons by a tour guide who told us all about the history of the buildings. We were also shown where the Queen is dressed and prepared for state occasions and the halls she walks through. After the tour we had lunch in the Great Hall Cafe. Later in the afternoon we sat in the public gallery and watched a question time session about work and pensions. It was very interesting to see how Parliament works.

It was without a doubt one of the best nights in many years at Portchester Community School. A sellout audience was treated to sixteen student acts (and three staff ones.) The standard was incredibly high all evening and the audience response was enthusiastic and supportive. There could only be one winner per house, and the audience votes meant that the following acts qualified for the final to be held in Friday's assembly:
Lennon House: Singer and musician Sam Wright
Kelly House: Singer Maggie Allen
Henry House: Dancer Lewis Wheelhouse
Da Vinci House: Ventriloquist Lewis Meda
